Module 5: Dietary: 400's

Dorothy knows that she cannot put on her Ruby Slippers without her blue socks, and we at WIC cannot assess the Diet without knowing what is going on with the participant’s growth and medical history. As you continue with your new friends (Scarecrow, Lion and Tinman) bring the information that has been gathered to the next part of the assessment. Now let’s apply it to nutrition.

Module Highlights

What Does it Mean

The Diet portion of an assessment is our specialty, nutrition is what we do best! It means that you are the professional expert that a participant has come to with questions or concerns about their diet, or how to feed their children.

Why are we concerned with nutrition?

We know that many of the body’s important functions relate directly to nutrition: growth and development, repairing damage, replacing dying cells, and carrying needed materials to working cells.

How do you find out this information?

By asking the important open ended questions.

Now it is time for you to view a video and then practice with the activities. Please first watch the video near the top of the screen on the right, then you will be able work on the activities located in the purple box on the right side.
